The F1-75 is unveiled by Ferrari

The F1-75, Scuderia Ferrari’s challenger for the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship, was presented online this afternoon at the Gestione Sportiva in Maranello.

The car is the 68th that the company has built to compete in motor racing’s blue riband category. It features a brand new shade of red, especially developed by the Ferrari Style Centre, while its name reflects the fact that the company is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its founding this year. The anniversary is reflected in the celebratory logo, alongside the Italian flag, which has been a long-time feature on Ferrari Formula 1 cars.

The F1-75 has a completely new look, as a result of the Maranello engineers’ interpretation of the new technical regulations that come into force this year. The design phase was tackled with an innovative, unconventional approach. Among the elements that stand out, are the lower nose, and the bodywork where particular attention has been paid to the packaging of the PU and its ancillary parts in order to achieve the best possible aerodynamic performance. This year also marks the return of ground effect after a forty-year absence, while the Pirelli tyres have increased in size to 18 inches, as from this season.

The Italian-based team, in collaboration with Red Bull’s premium fashion brand AlphaTauri, has created a first-of-its-kind launch video by combining a 3D CGI rendering of the race car and its surroundings with real footage of the AlphaTauri Spring/Summer 2022 collection runway show, highlighting the fusion of tech, innovation and style, that bonds the two companies together.

The actual AT03 will make its first official F1 appearance at next week’s Barcelona test, but in the meantime, the innovative video tells the story of the synergies between fashion and motorsport through three main pillars.

It starts with a Monolith in the CGI world, representing the team’s technology, state-of-the-art facilities, and know-how of the people who have produced the car. Each element then moves towards the second pillar, the Portal – signifying AlphaTauri and its technology – that ‘dresses’ the AT03, drivers and models, as they move into the real world, the World of AlphaTauri. This final pillar demonstrates the product of the partnership, where the ‘Style Of A New Era’ materialises across both fashion and F1.

“I am very happy to welcome Henrik and his company to our team”, Franz Tost commented. “Logistics are a fundamental part of our sport, and it simply couldn’t exist without an exceptional infrastructure. Besides the obvious travelling to the races, we have constant demands for specialised logistic solutions such as transporting parts between our factory in Italy and the wind tunnel in England, receiving components from Japan or flying our cars around the world for sponsor events. Furthermore, it’s always a pleasure for me to work with people who are as passionate about racing as I am, and Henrik is a real motorsport enthusiast.”

The two companies will benefit from their past experiences of operating on a global scale, innovative spirit and managing logistical challenges, alongside their shared values of speed, efficiency, performance, and competitiveness.
