The moment of Scuderia Ferrari and the Las Vegas Grand Prix

Facebook Twitter LinkedInReddit Email

Formula 1 continues its itinerary on the American continent with the Las Vegas Grand Prix. It runs on the new track, built in the capital of Nevada, a very fast track.

Ferraris will have to try to bring back enthusiasm to people who are unable to smile with the rankings in hand. The Spaniard Carlos Sainz is sixth in the drivers’ standings with 192 points, very far from the top, occupied by Max Verstappen’s Red Bull with 524 points. Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, is just behind his team colleague on 170 points, the Monegasque driver is even further away from the top step, but in the Las Vegas Grand Prix, he could prove the critics wrong and show what he is made of.

And speaking of Grand Prix, the Bwin odds say that the favourite to win the race is Max Verstappen. Bookmakers are closely watching the competition, with Lando Norris of McLaren, a key figure after the Red Bull driver. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari is also drawing attention, as is Sergio Perez, the other Red Bull driver. Carlos Sainz, in the second Ferrari, is not far behind in the bookmakers’ considerations, and Lewis Hamilton, with his Mercedes, is also a significant contender in their eyes.

As already mentioned, the Las Vegas circuit will be very different than it was in the 1980s. 6,201 km long, it will have 17 curves (11 on the left, six on the right) and will run counterclockwise. It is the second-longest track on the 2023 calendar, preceded only by Spa Francorchamps.

Similar speech for the top speeds, which, due to the long 1.9 km straight, are expected to be second only to Monza. Again, according to the simulations carried out, it is assumed that just over 78% of the total distance of the route will be covered at full throttle. If confirmed, it would be the fourth-best result of the season, behind only Jeddah Street Circuit, Bahrain International Circuit and Monza. However, considering even the slower corners, the drivers would spend just over 66% of the lap at full throttle. A figure comparable to Silverstone.

Red Bull Racing reveal Las Vegas makeover

Facebook Twitter LinkedInReddit Email

The World Champions have embraced the inaugural Las Vegas GP with a makeover that the Strip would be proud of. Inspired by the city’s energy, excitement, and neon lights, the RB19 will turn purple for Round 22 of the Formula 1 season, with touches of Vegas’ famous culture decorating the bodywork, revealed yesterday.

(function($){ $(window).on("resize", function(){ var sid = "35"; var object = $(".bsaProContainer-" + sid + " .bsaProItemInner__img"); var animateThumb = $(".bsaProContainer-" + sid + " .bsaProAnimateThumb"); var innerThumb = $(".bsaProContainer-" + sid + " .bsaProItemInner__thumb"); var parentWidth = "970"; var parentHeight = "250"; var objectWidth = object.width(); if ( objectWidth < parentWidth ) { var scale = objectWidth / parentWidth; if ( objectWidth > 0 && objectWidth != 100 && scale > 0 ) { animateThumb.height(parentHeight * scale); innerThumb.height(parentHeight * scale); object.height(parentHeight * scale); } else { animateThumb.height(parentHeight); innerThumb.height(parentHeight); object.height(parentHeight); } } else { animateThumb.height(parentHeight); innerThumb.height(parentHeight); object.height(parentHeight); } }); $(document).ready(function(){ $(".bsaProItemInner__img").trigger("resize"); }); })(jQuery);

While this is the Team’s third unique livery of the season, rounding off a hattrick of USA specials, all thanks to The Paddock’s Make Your Mark campaign, this will be the first race the entirety of the RB19 has been taken over by unique makeover. From rear wing to front wing, halo to sidepods, Oracle Red Bull Racing has well and truly piled all chips on the Vegas look.

The Make Your Mark campaign has seen members of The Paddock, Oracle Red Bull Racing’s free loyalty programme, powered by the Team’s Title Partner Oracle, challenged by the Team to design a bespoke livery for each of the USA Grands Prix, as Max and Checo race stateside three times in one season for the first time. The campaign generated a huge buzz, with the top designs being put to a vote on the Paddock. Over 24,000 votes were cast by fans, leading to thousands of new sign-ups to the platform.

From Essex, UK, Lindsay Palmer was picked from thousands of entries from fans wanting to hit the jackpot and have their design featured as the Team’s Vegas livery. With purple at its base, her design will look like pink and yellow neon lights are flowing through the car’s bodywork as the RB19 charges through the streets of Vegas at night. Lindsay will be there to see the moment the livery drops in another unique reveal moment on Wednesday and will also be trackside with the Team all weekend to see her creation on track.

Scuderia AlphaTauri Las Vegas special livery

Facebook Twitter LinkedInReddit Email

Formula 1 is all set to make a return to the streets of Las Vegas this weekend for the first time in 41 years, and to say that everyone involved is excited about it would be an understatement.

(function($){ $(window).on("resize", function(){ var sid = "35"; var object = $(".bsaProContainer-" + sid + " .bsaProItemInner__img"); var animateThumb = $(".bsaProContainer-" + sid + " .bsaProAnimateThumb"); var innerThumb = $(".bsaProContainer-" + sid + " .bsaProItemInner__thumb"); var parentWidth = "970"; var parentHeight = "250"; var objectWidth = object.width(); if ( objectWidth < parentWidth ) { var scale = objectWidth / parentWidth; if ( objectWidth > 0 && objectWidth != 100 && scale > 0 ) { animateThumb.height(parentHeight * scale); innerThumb.height(parentHeight * scale); object.height(parentHeight * scale); } else { animateThumb.height(parentHeight); innerThumb.height(parentHeight); object.height(parentHeight); } } else { animateThumb.height(parentHeight); innerThumb.height(parentHeight); object.height(parentHeight); } }); $(document).ready(function(){ $(".bsaProItemInner__img").trigger("resize"); }); })(jQuery);

To mark the occasion, the Scuderia AlphaTauri cars raced by Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo will feature a special livery which will look incredible under the floodlights of this night race as the cars hurtle down the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Continuing the nighttime theme, the uniform will be retained for the following weekend’s season finale, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The design, featuring white speed streaks flowing down the bodywork, is inspired by the AlphaTauri x Brendan Monroe Las Vegas Capsule Collection. Monroe is a Californian artist and muralist who signed the special livery at a fantastic launch event last night at the Intrigue Lounge, one of Las Vegas’ hottest nightspots. The unisex collection includes a down vest, two hoodies, and two T-shirts. Accessories include a cap, a bucket hat and a belt bag. All products are adorned with a specially designed print inspired by Brendan Monroe’s Black Matte Night Spiral design. It features the artist’s characteristic style and is presented in his signature black/white colour palette.

“I was so excited to have the opportunity to work with AlphaTauri,” said Brendan. “Working together with the creative team at a fashion brand inspired me. They were instrumental in our collaboration from start to finish, and they’ve produced so many beautiful pieces for this special capsule collection.”

What Is a Tensile Test and Why Does It Matter

Facebook Twitter LinkedInReddit Email

Have you ever wondered why engineers and material scientists study tensile tests? Tensile testing provides critical information about the strength, elasticity, durability, and other important properties of materials.

Running a tensile test on a sample of material such as metal or plastic can determine how much force is required to stretch or break it and therefore make safer products for consumers. If you’ve ever been curious about what goes into a tensile test or why they’re performed in the first place, this blog post has all the answers! Read on to learn more about these incredibly useful tests that ensure consumer safety in an array of industries.

Explaining what a tensile test is and its purpose

A tensile test is a common way to measure the strength of materials. It involves pulling a sample of the material until it breaks while measuring the force applied and the amount of stretching that occurs. The test can be used to determine the ultimate strength of a material, as well as its yield strength and modulus of elasticity. This information is important for engineers and designers who need to select the right materials for their projects to ensure safety and reliability.

It can also be used for quality control purposes, to ensure that materials being manufactured or used in products meet certain performance criteria. Ultimately, the tensile test provides valuable insights into the mechanical properties of materials so that they can be used effectively and with confidence.

Different types of tensile tests and their applications

Tensile tests are an essential part of material testing, used to determine properties such as strength, ductility, and elasticity. There are different types of tensile tests used for different purposes. For example, a uniaxial tensile test is used to measure the behaviour of a material under a unidirectional load, while a biaxial tensile test can provide data on the response of a material to two loads simultaneously.

Early Contenders to Win the Las Vegas Grand Prix

Facebook Twitter LinkedInReddit Email

It may only be the penultimate race of the F1 season, but the Las Vegas Grand Prix might be the most anticipated race of the season. The city of Las Vegas is pulling out all the stops, including a temporary track that will go right through the famous Las Vegas Strip. Even with the results of the Brazilian Grand Prix fresh in everyone’s minds, let’s start taking a look at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Here are the top drivers who are in contention to finish first in the first F1 race held in Las Vegas since 1982.

Max Verstappen

Without question, Verstappen is the clear favourite to win the Las Vegas Grand Prix, according to all of the major betting sites. The Dutchman has dominated the F1 season in a way that no other driver has in the history of the sport. After winning the Brazil Grand Prix, Verstappen has now won 17 of the 20 this season. Why wouldn’t he be favoured to win the last two? Clearly, Verstappen is the best F1 driver in the world right now by a big margin. The only caveat is that the Las Vegas Grand Prix is a new race with an unfamiliar course, which could level the playing field. But if anyone can adjust quickly to it, Verstappen can.

Sergio Perez

Perez might be the driver with the best chance of ending Verstappen’s five-race winning streak. He’s currently second in the F1 standings and has shown in the past that he’s capable of giving Verstappen a run for his money. In fact, two of the three races this season that Verstappen didn’t win were won by Perez. On the other hand, Perez has finished outside of the top three drivers in six straight races, so he’s not in the form he was in early in the season when he won his two races.

Lewis Hamilton

Currently third in the F1 standings, Hamilton is another driver who could pull off a surprise at the Las Vegas Grand Prix and prevent Verstappen from winning. Hamilton is a seven-time F1 champion, winning the title in 2020 before Verstappen’s reign began. During the current season, Hamilton has finished in the top three in six races, including a second-place finish at the Mexico City Grand Prix last month. In other words, he’s one of the few drivers with the skills and track record to steal the spotlight away from Verstappen in Las Vegas.

Fernando Alonso

Following back-to-back races in which he was forced to retire, Alonso finished third at the Brazil Grand Prix. While he’s yet to win a race this season, he’s been good enough to be fourth in the F1 standings. Without question, his best days are behind him, as Alonso hasn’t won an F1 race in over a decade. However, his experience level could prove useful on the unfamiliar track in Las Vegas.

How to Choose the Right Towing Service for Your Needs

Facebook Twitter LinkedInReddit Email

Finding yourself stranded on the side of the road due to a vehicle breakdown can be a stressful and inconvenient situation. Whether it’s a flat tire, engine trouble, or an accident, having a reliable towing service on speed dial can make all the difference. But with so many towing companies out there, how do you choose the right one for your needs? In this comprehensive guide, we’ll walk you through the essential factors to consider when selecting a towing service that can rescue you from those unexpected roadside emergencies.

1. Location, Location, Location

One of the first things to consider when choosing a towing service is the location. The proximity of the towing company to your regular routes, home, and workplace is crucial. You want a service that can reach you quickly, especially during emergencies. To ensure a prompt response, it’s a good idea to search for options near you. So, if you’re in Ipswich, Queensland, searching for Ipswich towing can help you identify local towing companies that are familiar with the area. This allows them to arrive swiftly to your rescue.

2. Services Offered

Towing companies provide a wide range of services, from basic towing to more specialized assistance. Before making a decision, it’s essential to know what services a towing company offers. Some common services include:

Flatbed Towing: This method is suitable for transporting cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles without causing additional damage.

Wheel Lift Towing: Ideal for smaller vehicles and those with front-wheel drive, as it lifts only the front or rear wheels off the ground.

Sao Paulo Grand Prix Set To Remain On F1 Calendar Until 2030

Facebook Twitter LinkedInReddit Email

Formula 1 has announced that the Sao Paulo Grand Prix will remain on its calendar until 2030 after a new five-year extension. The Sao Paulo Grand Prix, also known as the Interlagos circuit, has been part of the Formula 1 schedule for five decades. Officially known as the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, rightfully after the winner of the 1975 race, the Sao Paulo Grand Prix has one of the most iconic racetracks you’ll come across in a calendar year. The new five-year extension has become an exciting storyline ahead of the 2023 Grand Prix on November 5.

Sao Paulo Grand Prix Interlagos Racetrack

The Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace is a carnival atmosphere with an iconic racetrack featuring 15 corners over 4.3 kilometres. When it was first established, the circuit’s design featured inspirations from racetracks in the UK, US, and France. However, the racetrack has evolved into a unique spectacle that has seen some of its famous parts like the Senna ‘esses’ used at other venues. The racetrack has hosted memorable moments in the history of Formula 1, including the most recent battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen in 2021.

Other memorable moments include Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen’s World Championship in 2007 and Ayrton Senna’s emotional victory in front of his home crowd in 1991. 2022 also came with some surprises as George Russel won the F1 sprint and Grand Prix for the first time in his Formula 1 career. Kevin Magnussen was another shocker as he secured the Pole Position for the F1 sprint. The event attracted 235,000 fans and delivered an entertaining weekend of F1 racing action, which is customary at the Interlagos racetrack.

Interlagos Circuit to Host More Events

Formula 1’s five-year extension of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix comes after recent investments from the current administration. Sao Paulo’s Mayor Nunes is determined to upgrade the Interlagos circuit into a venue that can host a broader range of entertainment events like music concerts. Race promoter MC Brazil Motorsport has also worked closely with Nunes’ administration to enhance the fan experience, with more emphasis placed on sustainability and environmental, social, and governance initiatives.

Recently, 100 women from vulnerable backgrounds were upskilled and graduated in a special ceremony where they became qualified mechanics. Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali announced the new five-year extension, stating he was delighted the franchise “will be staying at Interlagos until 2030.” The president also commented on the wonderful carnival atmosphere that Brazilian fans bring to the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Dates for the 2024 Grand Prix are already out, with the Sao Paulo event going down from November 1.
