Kimi Räikkönen: “We need to make sure we’re competitive from the beginning”

There is a high level of intrigue surrounding this years British Grand Prix with the debut of a brand new weekend format, which adds sprint races to the calendar which should promise for more overtaking which adds the potential for an even more exciting British Grand Prix Weekend than usual to the delight of the full capacity crowd at Silverstone.

Kimi Räikkönen is excited to try out the brand new format, but is wary to not be too quick to judge the format before the weekend has begun and the Fin will then make his mind up on the format after he has experienced it for himself.

“The new format will be interesting: I don’t feel we are in a position to judge it yet, let’s see what this weekend brings and then we can make our mind up about it with more knowledge.”

Räikkönen feels that it will be imperative to be competitive right from the off on the weekend to be in with a chance of scoring points in either or both of the races on the weekend.

“Most importantly, no matter how the weekend looks like, we need to make sure we’re competitive from the beginning: things start to matter on Friday and we need to be right in the battle for the top ten from the start if we want to be there at the end of the day on Sunday.”

Giovinazzi Hoping That The Italian Sporting Magic Will Rub Off On Himself

Antonio Giovinazzi is looking forward to getting back to racing at the 2021 British Grand Prix and will be racing with a smile on his face after Italy’s victory in the UEFA European Championship over the nation that’s holding the Grand Prix. The Italian will be hoping that some of this Italian sporting magic will rub off on himself as he hopes for a return to the form he showed at the Monaco Grand Prix where the Italian made it into Q3 and score points in the race.

“I am excited to get back to racing, especially with the enthusiasm from the celebrations of Italy’s European Championship victory still fresh in my mind. I hope some of this shine can rub on me this weekend and we can deliver a more successful weekend than the last two races, when we were effectively out of contention on the first lap without fault.

The whole of Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN know that they can be competitive and even make their way into the midfield when things go their way so Giovinazzi will be rallying the troops to have a successful battle in the two races this weekend.

“We know we can be competitive and fight against any of our direct rivals when things don’t go against us, so let’s make sure this weekend is when we get it right.”
