Lawrence Stroll became Executive Chairman of Aston Martin Lagonda in April 2020 after leading a strong investment consortium to take a stake in the group. The Canadian businessman is famed for acquiring and building luxury brands such as Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Asprey and Garrard and for his passion for the luxury automotive and motorsport sectors. Stroll’s role as Executive Chairman demonstrates that he is actively engaged in the future of Aston Martin Lagonda.

Stroll’s career began 30 years ago when his family acquired the Pierre Cardin children’s wear licence for Canada.
In 1989, Stroll formed Sportswear Holdings Limited with Hong King fashion investor Silas Chou. They bought the Tommy Hilfiger and Pepe Jeans brands, which Aston Martin partner Hackett owns. In 2003, Sportswear Holdings acquired a majority interest in Michael Kors, where Stroll and Chou led the business through its successful IPO.
From 2000 until August 2022, Stroll owned a Canadian race car circuit, Circuit Mont-Tremblant, in Quebec’s Laurentian Mountains.
In August 2018, Stroll led a consortium of investors that bought the Force India Formula One team. Renamed Racing Point Force India, and as a new team officially, they re-entered midway through the 2018 Formula One season and achieved the 7th position in the Constructors’ Championship. For the 2019 season, the team name and entrant have changed again to Racing Point F1 Team, with Stroll’s son Lance driving one of the cars and finishing in 7th position in the Constructors’ Championship.

On January 31, 2020, it was announced that Stroll led the Yew Tree Investments consortium to invest £182 million into Aston Martin for a 16.7% stake in the company. The Racing Point F1 Team was rebranded as the Aston Martin F1 Team in 2021.
Stroll is married to Raquel Stroll (née Diniz). He was previously married to Belgian-born Claire-Anne Stroll (née Callens). Lawrence and Claire-Anne have two children. Their son, Lance Stroll, is a racing driver competing in Formula One. Their daughter is Chloe Stroll.
Lawrence Stroll has an extensive collection of cars, most of which are Ferraris, ranging from the Ferrari 250 GTO to the most recent LaFerrari. He used to own the Ferrari dealership in Quebec. He also owns other cars, such as McLarens and a Ford GT.
