Here at Hagerty MSR we see many different types of events. All of them (with just a few exceptions) have two things in common: tires and a motor. What goes around those tires and motor varies greatly depending on the organization, the discipline, the event, and the vehicle.

When was the last time you audited the administrative users within your MSR account? The answer to this for many clubs in MSR is “never”, which exposes your organization to some level of risk which you may not be comfortable with.
In our last post Faith gave a rundown of the new admin navigation interface, and now I'm here to share some of the great new functionality that it offers.
As a member of the Hagerty MotorsportReg Customer Success team, I have the sincere pleasure of working with so many of you, our customers, on a daily basis. If you've ever written in to our support box, there is a good chance we've worked together to troubleshoot one thing or another. I have nothing but respect and admiration for everything our event organizers do to facilitate outstanding events for their attendees, and I'm honored to help wherever and whenever I can.
A key roadmap theme for 2021 has been to redesign the main attendee experience for MotorsportReg. Starting with the event calendar, then moving to the registration form in the first quarter, and now an all-new event advertisement.
We’re excited to share that we’ve recently added a new role to the Hagerty MotorsportReg team, which we hope you’ll view as an extension of your team.
Verifying SpeedWaivers during check-in is about to get easier...
As referenced in our May blog post, work has been underway to integrate SpeedWaiver into the MotorsportReg check-in experience. We're excited to share a brief video demo of this new capability, which will be launching soon. Please check it out and let us know what you think.

Within the Text and Copy section of your Event Settings, you’ll find a new option to “Enable SpeedWaiver” for your event within the registration flow. By enabling this option, your attendees will automatically be sent the link to your event waiver once they complete their registration, and the waiver will be linked to the attendee’s registration in MSR.
We’ve also added the ability to collect email addresses within the SpeedWaiver flow. This is a great way to add guests or event day walkup attendees to your email lists. Should you want to activate this option to grow your email list, let our team know and we’ll enable it on your account.
In late 2020 we launched a website redesign to better align with modern design and mobile user experience principles. We've received a tremendous amount of helpful feedback from organizers and attendees, which we continue to collect and use to make iterative improvements. Within the website launch announcement, we teased that the updates to the site and calendar were simply the first phase in our plans to upgrade the look, feel, and usability of the MSR platform.
Phase two has been underway for several months and will begin rolling out soon. We have given the attendee registration experience a face lift with one singular objective in mind - making the experience of registering for your events easier and more intuitive for attendees. We've had several organizers beta testing these updates over the last month, and their feedback has been instrumental in the redesign.
More than just refreshing the look and feel, the new experience will reduce the number of steps involved in registration and eliminate barriers that have been common points of confusion or frustration for attendees during the event registration process.
New registration form
The first release in this overhaul is a redesign of the registration form styling with a simplified, more intuitive, and mobile friendly layout. This update will be automatically applied and requires no additional work on your behalf - simply create your registration forms in the Form Builder, and they'll automatically be displayed with the new layout.
This new design is much more mobile friendly. With larger package and touch-anywhere-to-select design, tapping your way through a registration from a smart phone or tablet has never been easier.
Here's a sneak peek of a new form layout:
SpeedWaiver continues to get better and better
We’re starting 2021 off strong with more enhancements to SpeedWaiver. With over 200 organizations using SpeedWaiver to sign more than 90,000 waivers, we've been able to collect a tremendous amount of user ideas and feedback. We have released several new features since we last wrote an update here in November.
Around headquarters at MotorsportReg, we talk a lot about the Nurburgring. A lot. (We even wrote a book on how to visit, spectate, drive and race the Ring, if you're curious) Whenever a new hot lap is laid down, we immediately share it on Slack and sit tensely on the edge of our chairs watching supercars race flat out in 6th and 7th gears.
We're sharing our favorites (updated from 10 to 12!): a curated list of the fastest laps on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. If you can only watch three, I would recommend the #5 NIO EP9 (electric car!), #1 Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo (Millenium Falcon warpspeed-fast!) and the extra BONUS clip we included at the bottom (oversteer!)
Since its introduction 17 years ago, MotorsportReg.com has become the go-to place for both motorsport event organizers and participants — including racing, track days, autocross, karting, and more. Over 1 million people visit our site to find events each year – YOUR events. We aim to grow upon that number significantly in 2021 and beyond, connecting automotive and motorsport enthusiasts across North America with over 7000 events listed on the platform annually.
It’s been a quick four months since we officially launched SpeedWaiver, our innovative motorsport-specific electronic signature system. In that time over 67,000 waivers have been signed, across 148 organizations and 1541 events.
